The McLane Social Environment

The McLane Firm is a family oriented firm, both internally and externally. Family, socializing and a commitment to the communities in which we live and work play an important part of the McLane experience.

There are a number of annual get togethers, some for firm members only, and others that include significant others, spouses and family. Additionally, McLane's Special Events Committee puts together a number of activities throughout the year, some of which have become annual traditions.

Children's Holiday Party

Every December, the firm holds a holiday party for the children of McLane. Visits from favorite cartoon characters, local musicians, food, and a multitude of arts and crafts keeps the fun going for a whole Sunday afternoon. All the firm's conference rooms in its Manchester location are turned into a kid's paradise and is a favorite amongst the children of those who work here.

Firm Annual Holiday Party

Held at the beginning of December, firm employees along with their spouses or significant others come together for an evening of dining and dancing at the C.R. Sparks in Bedford.

St Patrick's Day Pot Luck Lunch

St. Patrick's Day is a fun holiday around here; many people in the firm will dress up and decorate their work areas for the occasion. On the day, we hold a pot luck luncheon for all firm members.

Bowling

This activity is one of the Social Events Committee activities that has become a firm favorite. Limited to firm members only, McLane rents out a Manchester bowling alley. In good fun, the teams take themselves pretty seriously (with rumors that some of our Associates sneak practice sessions in the weeks beforehand). Prizes are awarded in a number of different categories.

Attorney Retreat

Held bi-annually in the spring, the Attorney Retreat is a time to reflect on the strategic and financial growth of the firm, learn about where we are headed and spend time getting to know one another better. For two days, all attorneys head North to the Mountains to a resort where we learn about the firm, do teamwork activities (such as a ropes course), have a dinner, and enjoy a humorous skit put on by the Associates.

McLane Softball Team

The McLane Softball Team assembles every spring and plays Manchester law firms and businesses every Thursday night throughout the summer. Each summer, one of the players assumes the role of reporter for the firm's Daily Memo to report on the McLane team's standing.

Ice Cream Socials

Once a month in the summer, the firm holds an ice-cream social for all employees during the work day, to help us get through those summer months!

New Hampshire Fisher Cats

All firm members and their families are invited to New Hampshire's American League baseball team for a night of "dinner in the den" and a game. The McLane section usually takes up a good portion of the ball park and a good time is had by all!

Minary

Minary is the annual Partner retreat (the names stems from the first location where this annual meeting was held), where firm business is discussed away from the office at one of New Hampshire's resort locations. This is, like the all Attorney Retreat, also a time to socialize and bond between the Partners.

Halloween Pot Luck

Like the St. Patrick's Day Pot Luck, all firm members are invited to bring their favorite dish, and again, the offices are decorated for the season.
