The McLane Work Environment

Despite our size... with eighty attorneys in three offices... you'll find that client interaction and courtroom experience come quickly. Most client files are staffed with one partner and one associate so you'll be involved with the case from beginning to end.

In litigated matters, you will appear in court and handle hearings during your first year. You'll take and defend depositions and assume a role alongside the partner in all phases of preparing and trying the case.

Your involvement in difficult or complex corporate matters will not be limited to behind the scenes research. Typically you will work with the partner as a team in preparing and closing a transaction. Understanding the complete transaction and the client relationship are important aspects of your professional growth at McLane.

In our practice, you will earn responsibility for more difficult matters at a rate commensurate with your demonstrated ability. You will also continue your legal education through in-house training programs and attendance at outside continuing legal education seminars.

In the office, state of the art computers and one of the most extensive law libraries in the state will support your legal work. Lexis, Westlaw and a variety of specialized services will be at your disposal with an experienced library staff to assist you with legal research and training.

At McLane, the support you'll get from your fellow associates, the firm's partners and from our formal development programs will help you to acquire the independent judgment and consultative skills you will need to become a successful lawyer, to serve our clients, and to enjoy the practice of law.
