David is one of our most experienced litigators, having tried dozens of jury trials and many issues to court cases. While having tried noteworthy business litigation disputes, his primary focus is on personal injury (medical malpractice, accidents involving automobiles, watercraft, airplanes and motorcycles, construction site accidents, premises liability, etc.) and divorce matters. David has two of the largest medical malpractice verdicts in the state and has successfully resolved through trial, mediation or settlement many divorces involving substantial assets, businesses owned by the parties, large real estate holdings, and corporate stock interests.

Representative Clients & Work

  • Medical malpractice claims made with regard to cerebral palsy following birth, brain injury following improper intubation, failure to diagnose cancer, surgical mishaps, misdiagnoses of various conditions with tragic or fatal results.
  • Construction accident claims involving improper construction techniques, failure to take precautions or provide a safe work site resulting in death, crush injuries, severe burns and other physical injuries.
  • Automobile accident claims involving intersection accidents, yellow line violations, drunk drivers, failure to yield, etc., resulting in various injuries, including death, brain injury, spinal injury, broken neck, broken back and other various injuries.
  • Premises liability claims including propane gas explosion, improper ramps, improper stairs, inappropriate lighting, and other hazardous conditions resulting in death, head injuries, hip fractures and other injuries.
  • Divorce clients with marital estates involving substantial assets including trust funds, inheritance, real estate holdings, business interests and retirement plans, and cases involving custody disputes, alimony, property settlement and child support.

Admitted to the New Hampshire Bar Association 1971, California Bar Association 1970 (now inactive); United States District Court for the District of New Hampshire 1971; United States Court of Appeals, First Circuit 1983; United States Supreme Court 1976.

Professional & Association Memberships

David served as the 13th President of the New Hampshire Trial Lawyers Association (1989-1990) and was the New Hampshire State Delegate to the Association of Trial Lawyers of America from 1991-1997.

He is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (President of the New Hampshire Chapter 1999-2000), the International Society of Barristers, the American Bar Association, the New Hampshire Bar Foundation, and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America.

Recognition

  • David was the recipient of the Board of Governors Award in 1998 by the New Hampshire Trial Lawyers Association, and the President's Award in 1990.
  • David is recognized in The Best Lawyers in America in the areas of Personal Injury and Divorce.
  • Recipient of the Manchester Bar Association's Lifetime Achievement Award - 2006
