Energy Facility Siting

The McLane Law Firm has been involved in numerous matters pertaining to the siting of energy facilities, including multiple proceedings before the New Hampshire Energy Facility Site Evaluation Committee (EFSEC). Representative projects include the following:

  • All siting and permitting work before EFSEC associated with the construction of a new 720 MW gas-fired, cogeneration power plant in Londonderry, NH;
  • Representation before EFSEC in connection with the expansion of a 17 mile gas transmission lateral pipeline form Dracut, MA to Manchester, NH;
  • Transfer of the EFSEC certificate due to a change in ownership of the 520 MW gas-fired, cogeneration power plant in Newington, NH;
  • Representation before EFSEC regarding the redevelopment of a former paper mill site into a new 66 MW biomass power plant that will generate renewable energy credits;
  • Obtaining an exemption from the EFSEC process for the addition of additional capacity at a propane storage facility; and
  • Representation of a municipality in association with the proposed alteration of a private 16 MW wood-fired power plant which sought authority to combust construction and demolition debris.
