Lobbying Practice Professionals

Legislative

Our Government Relations Advisor provides a full-time presence in the State Capitol. This presence allows us to remain current on the issues and the positions of Executive and Legislative Branch officials and other interested parties. In many cases, McLane's lobbying professionals serve as an extension of our client's staff and communicate regularly with the information, analysis and advice that helps them understand and have an affect on constantly changing regulatory requirements.

Monitoring

We offer customized reports on pending legislation, interim studies, special commissions, task forces, roundtables, and other venues both inside and outside the legislative process. This includes tracking discussions, drafts, emerging issues, research reports and other activities that may ultimately affect legislation or client interests.

Testifying

We can provide valuable assistance to our clients in developing and presenting effective testimony.

Regulatory Services

Regulations have the same effect as law. We provide services tailored to our clients objectives of new requirements that may affect them.

Members of our Government Relations Practice are in regular contact with federal and State agencies, and we maintain contact with major statewide associations and trade groups that represent broader constituencies potentially affected by current or proposed regulations.

Issue Management

We plan and implement programs for client participation including strategic planning, policy development, monitoring and communications with government officials. We can help you with coalition building, developing legislative or political presentations to targeted audiences and coordinating grassroots and media components of an effective government relations effort.

Coalition Building

Individuals and organizations rarely stand alone before the State Legislature or a regulatory agency. Individuals, businesses and organizations often have common interests that will provide a basis to work legislation effectively. Cooperation can significantly improve and strengthen the position being advocated on behalf of any individual or association.

Coalition building is a key aspect of effective government relations. Many groups lack the staff, time or money to thoroughly participate in every legislative initiative or action on its own. We provide the professional and technical resources to help you develop these relationships, build the necessary coalitions, and advocate with greater numbers to enhance the likelihood of a successful outcome.

Association Management

Effective management is essential for the success of non-profit organizations, yet many non-profit organizations lack adequate resources to hire a full-time professional staff. There is an obvious need for a cost effective approach to the daily operation and management of non-profit organizations.

We provide comprehensive and professional guidance that will make a real difference for small or mid-size non-profits, including business groups, professional affiliations, chambers of commerce, and trade associations.
