Paralegal

Trusts and Estates Drafting Paralegal

McLane Middleton is currently seeking a talented Estate Planning Document Drafting Paralegal to join the firm’s Manchester, NH office.

The position requires an understanding of estate planning concepts and experience drafting estate planning documents, including health care documents, powers of attorney, Wills, Trusts, and related documents.  Knowledge of trust and estate administration is a plus.

  • Associates Degree with Paralegal Emphasis or Bachelor’s Degree from an ABA approved Paralegal Program preferred
  • Prior Trusts and Estates experience in law firm environment preferred
  • NALA or NFPA Certification is a plus

Trust and Estate Administration Paralegal

McLane Middleton has an excellent opportunity for an experienced Trust and Estate Administration Paralegal.  We are seeking an individual with a broad base of  experience including probate and trust administration, working knowledge of the Probate Court rules and procedures and probate accountings, Federal gift and estate tax returns, and familiarity with trust accounting computer programs.  Ideal candidate will be a self-starter, able to work independently and have previous paralegal experience in the administration of trusts and estates, including the preparation of U.S. Estate Tax Returns (Form 706).   Candidates must have at least an associate’s degree with paralegal studies emphasis; bachelor’s degree from ABA approved paralegal program preferred.  Certification from NALA or NFPA is a plus.

Trust Officer

McLane Middleton is seeking a Trust Officer. The qualified individual will act as the relationship administrator with McLane Middleton clients and will be responsible for the administration of assigned personal trust and fiduciary accounts. The Trust Officer will communicate with grantors, fiduciaries, beneficiaries, and other professionals on a regular basis in order to develop and maintain positive relationships.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the relationship administrator on trust accounts
  • Be responsible for administration, management and servicing of assigned fiduciary and investment management accounts
  • Review account-related legal documents such as wills, trusts, leases, agreements, etc. and consult with attorneys regarding legal needs and interpretation of trust documents, wills and other materials
  • Administer trusts in accordance with the governing instrument and relevant law
  • Be the primary contact for all matters related to the assigned account
  • Prepare documents for account opening, agreements, transfer and assignment documents, beneficiary designations, investment objectives, notices, delegations and authorizations
  • Manage disbursement requests and approvals, prepare disbursement forms and releases
  • Complete, document, and present appropriate notices, account reviews, reports and accountings
  • Assist tax preparers with annual preparation, coordinate review and execution of tax returns, and coordinate quarterly tax payments

Real Estate Paralegal (Commercial)

Administrative File Assistant – Part Time

McLane Middleton is seeking a Part-Time Administrative File Assistant for its Manchester, NH location.  This position will be under the supervision of the firm's Director of Information Governance and will take day-to-day direction from the Central Filing Coordinator.  The initial focus of the Administrative File Assistant ("File Assistant") will be supporting the high volume scanning operation within the firm’s Records Department. Tasks will include preparing documents to be scanned and scanning the documents using the firm’s production scanning equipment. 

Must be able to lift 40 lbs and perform repetitive motion tasks routinely, e.g., removing staples and fasteners, operating equipment, moving boxes of files, operating binding and hole punch machinery.

Strong attention to detail required, professional demeanor and attitude, customer service orientation, subject matter interest, ability to closely follow detailed procedures and a ready willingness to own and accept responsibilities are required.

AV Specialist/Helpdesk Technician

The AV Specialist/ Helpdesk Technician is responsible for providing high quality customer service and helpdesk support for audio/visual needs of the firm. AV Support functions include hardware configuration, presentations, video teleconferences, while Helpdesk support functions include resolving desktop and application issues, application deployment and computer provisioning.  The role is accountable for ensuring a positive user experience with all supported technologies, from AV equipment and mobile device to desktop support of customer laptops and peripherals.  Position will also encompass other duties as assigned and the ability to learn other IT disciplines, such as Network or System Administration and Application and Database Administration.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high quality customer service for all audio/visual events and end user client hardware requests.
  • Provide technical support for all Audio/Visual related systems including but not limited to display devices, projectors, video teleconferencing (VTC) and Crestron control systems using documented procedures and tools.
  • Provide comprehensive audio/visual support for foundation meetings and events including setup, testing, operation and removal of AV equipment, configuration of conference room and event spaces and audio or video conferencing needs.
  • Assist users with connectivity to various AV conferencing solutions (Teams, ZOOM, Webex, Blue Jeans and/or other related platforms)
  • In depth knowledge and support experience with industry standard VTC systems (particularly Polycom and Cisco), conference phone solutions and audio/visual hardware platforms.
  • Perform regular testing/maintenance/upgrades of all internal AV systems
  • Record problem symptoms and status information in a timely fashion and communicate internally within IT and externally with the customer through problem resolution.
  • Perform metrics reporting as necessary for customer engagements and system outages.
  • Maintain up-to-date inventory of all applicable hardware & software.
  • Proven ability to support IT components (Client & Mobile Hardware / Software), Windows, IOS, Android and Office.
  • Operation and troubleshooting of Laptop, PC, Printer and Mobile devices.
  • Provide support to office and remote users, while escalating tickets as necessary to the appropriate support teams.

 

Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess the following combination of experience, knowledge and skills:

  • Minimum three years of direct work experience with AV and video teleconferencing solutions and technologies
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Teams, Polycom and ZOOM, operational activities and engineering
  • Understanding of and ability to troubleshoot signal path for audio and video
  • Must be able to read and interpret AV drawings
  • Experience with networked AV technology
  • Customer support experience via a help desk / service desk model
  • Experience troubleshooting a wide range of IT problems
  • Working knowledge of MS operating systems (Windows 10) and applications (Office 2016, O365)
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts, including VoIP
  • Ability and desire to provide extraordinary customer-service to internal customers
  • Ability to work independently and in a dynamic environment
  • Strong verbal and written interpersonal communications skills and ability to deal effectively with customers, peers and management.
  • Strong problem solving and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lift and install AV equipment which at times may exceed 25 lbs.  
  • Crestron, Extron, and/or Microsoft Certifications are a plus
