Paralegal

Trusts and Estates Drafting Paralegal

McLane Middleton is currently seeking a talented Estate Planning Document Drafting Paralegal to join the firm’s Manchester, NH office.

The position requires an understanding of estate planning concepts and experience drafting estate planning documents, including health care documents, powers of attorney, Wills, Trusts, and related documents.  Knowledge of trust and estate administration is a plus.

  • Associates Degree with Paralegal Emphasis or Bachelor’s Degree from an ABA approved Paralegal Program preferred
  • Prior Trusts and Estates experience in law firm environment preferred
  • NALA or NFPA Certification is a plus
  • Excellent writing and interpersonal communication skills

Trust and Estate Administration Paralegal

McLane Middleton has an excellent opportunity for an experienced Trust and Estate Administration Paralegal.  We are seeking an individual with a broad base of  experience including probate and trust administration, working knowledge of the Probate Court rules and procedures and probate accountings, Federal gift and estate tax returns, and familiarity with trust accounting computer programs.  Ideal candidate will be a self-starter, able to work independently and have previous paralegal experience in the administration of trusts and estates, including the preparation of U.S. Estate Tax Returns (Form 706).   Candidates must have at least an associate’s degree with paralegal studies emphasis; bachelor’s degree from ABA approved paralegal program preferred.  Certification from NALA or NFPA is a plus.

Chief Executive Officer

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) oversees and manages the finances, administrative operations and strategic business pursuits at McLane Middleton in collaboration with the firm’s Managing Director and Management Committee. The CEO reports to the Board of Directors and its Managing Director, and works closely with the firm’s Management Committee (the executive committee of the firm’s Board of Directors). The CEO, in conjunction with the Managing Director, is responsible for the implementation of the firm’s Strategic Plan, including execution of the firm’s overall vision, direction, strategy, leadership, and management functions. The CEO has direct oversight and responsibility for the firm’s Accounting, Information Technology, Human Resources, Facilities, Marketing, Records Management and Library Services. The CEO is responsible for providing direction to and empowering the managers of each of these Departments to ensure that they perform their necessary functions and fulfill the needs of the firm.

Trust & Estates Practice Analyst

The Trust & Estates Practice Analyst serves the firm’s Trust and Estates Department with a wide variety of data management operations and projects in support of the Department’s estate planning and administration practices.  Operations include reviewing and processing complex estate planning and trust instruments prior to vaulting, entering and maintaining data in the Department’s primary practice tracking system, attending to long-term projects in support of the modernization of practices and other special projects.  Must have a strong attention to detail, ability to follow detailed procedures, possess a solid work ethic, work well in a fast paced environment, along with supporting the Department’s exceptional level of client service and responsiveness.  This position is ideal for someone who is highly interested in a career in Trust and Estates, with potential growth into a paralegal or legal administrative assistant role.

Client Intake Coordinator

McLane Middleton is seeking a Client Intake Coordinator for its Manchester, NH office. The Client Intake Coordinator position is a key role that requires an exceptionally detail-oriented professional who enjoys the challenge of working with a busy accounting team.

Daily Tasks:

  • Perform conflict checks
  • Obtain conflict sign-offs and waiver letters, and other required approvals per policy guidelines
  • Create new clients and matters in Aderant system       
  • Matter Maintenance and scanning (reopen matters, address changes, matter title changes, rate changes, etc.) 
  • Engagement Letter management
  • Maintain conflict database and rebuild conflict indexer

Other Tasks:

  • Train new legal assistants on new matter (Hotdocs) and conflict search procedures
  • Provide coverage for Accounts Payable (invoice entry, check writing, scanning)
  • Assists with other accounting projects as time allows

Qualifications and Skills

Education
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or in a relevant discipline preferred or in combination with relevant experience.
