Paralegal

Trust Officer

McLane Middleton is seeking a Trust Officer.  The qualified individual will act as the relationship manager with McLane Middleton clients and will be responsible for the administration of assigned personal trust and fiduciary accounts.  The Trust Officer will communicate with grantors, fiduciaries and beneficiaries on a regular basis in order to develop and maintain positive relationships. 

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the relationship manager on trust accounts
  • Be responsible for administration, management and servicing of assigned fiduciary and investment management accounts
  • Review account-related legal documents such as wills, trusts, leases, agreements, etc. and consult with attorneys regarding legal needs and interpretation of trust documents, wills and other materials
  • Administer trusts in accordance with the governing instrument and relevant law
  • Be the primary contact for all matters related to the assigned account
  • Prepare documents for account opening, agreements, transfer and assignment documents, beneficiary designations, investment objectives, notices, delegations and authorizations
  • Manage disbursement requests and approvals, prepare disbursement forms and releases
  • Complete, document, and present appropriate notices, account reviews, reports and accountings
  • Assist tax preparers with annual preparation, coordinate review and execution of tax returns, and coordinate quarterly tax payments

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of trust administration and investment accounts
  • Experience working with high net worth clients

Junior Corporate Paralegal - Manchester, NH

McLane Middleton has an excellent opportunity for a full-time Junior Corporate Paralegal  who is a recent graduate of an ABA approved paralegal program.  Knowledge of entity formations and corporate governance along with keen attention to detail are required.  The right candidate should possess an energetic self-starter attitude and will be responsible for travelling to the New Hampshire Secretary of State on a routine basis.  Additional responsibilities include managing of corporate docket items, such as filing of Annual Reports, preparing consents in lieu of annual meetings, and trade name renewals.  Familiarity with various Secretary of States, Internal Revenue Service, and Uniform Commercial Code filings are a plus.  This position reports to the Senior Corporate Paralegal and is located in our Manchester, NH office.  We offer competitive salary and benefits.

Administrative File Assistant

Under the supervision of the firm’s Director of Information Governance, the Administrative File Assistant (“File Assistant”) supports all Central Filing operations, including file retrievals, scanning, circulation tracking, creation and maintenance of electronic and hardcopy folders and filing updates.  In addition, it is anticipated that this position will provide primary support for the maintenance of the firm’s corporate record books, as received from the firm’s Corporate Department paralegals.  Day-to-day tasks include inter-filing, creation of new books, creating duplicates for clients, redacting personal information, scanning, circulation tracking and related areas.  The File Assistant also performs basic data maintenance within the firm’s entity management database.* 

Must be able to lift 40 lbs and perform repetitive motion tasks routinely, e.g., moving boxes of files, operating binding and hole punch machinery. 

Strong attention to detail required, professional demeanor and attitude, customer service orientation, subject matter interest and a ready willingness to own and accept responsibilities are required.

Staff Accountant

McLane Middleton is seeking a Staff Accountant.  The ideal candidate should be an individual that is a team player, enjoys a fast-paced environment, the ability to multi-task, trouble-shoot, navigate change well and maintain a positive attitude. The position will be based in our Manchester, NH office.

Responsibilities

              Trust Operations

Handles client trust account activity including preparing deposits, check writing, confirming and wiring funds

Opens and maintains client interest bearing accounts

Prepares month-end trust reports

Global Exchange – entry and submission of foreign vendor invoices

Manages Title Insurance Audits

Serve as back up for conflict checks

Serve as back up for opening new client files

Assist with other projects as needed

Qualifications

Associates degree in Accounting or Business required; Bachelors degree preferred with either a major in Accounting or a major in Business with an Accounting concentration

3+ years of relevant experience

Trust operations experience

Must observe the strictest confidentiality

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Ability to work independently as well as within a team

Ability to multi-task and meet daily/monthly/annual deadlines

Ability to learn, grow and assist the team

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
