Jeanmarie Papelian Elected Chair of the Collaborative Law Alliance of New Hampshire

March 8, 2010, Manchester and Portsmouth, NH:  The law firm of McLane, Graf, Raulerson & Middleton, Professional Association, with offices in Manchester, Portsmouth, and Concord, New Hampshire, as well as Woburn, Massachusetts is proud to announce that Jeanmarie Papelian has been elected Chair of the Collaborative Law Alliance of New Hampshire.

The Collaborative Law Alliance of New Hampshire, (“CLA/NH”), is a community of New Hampshire based attorneys trained in a special form of alternative dispute resolution known as collaborative law.  The collaborative law process involves a series of dispute resolution meetings where both parties and attorneys sit together and work toward shared, as opposed to individual, goals.  Information necessary to assist in this process is gathered voluntarily and with full cooperation of the parties.  The process attempts to build stronger communication for resolving conflicts and reaching agreements using cooperative strategies rather than engaging in adversarial techniques and litigation. Jeanmarie has been an active member of the CLA/NH since 2000.

As co-chair of McLane’s Domestic Relations Practice Group, Jeanmarie leads a team of twelve legal professionals committed to the amicable resolution of family disputes, when possible.  In addition to being an experienced collaborative divorce practitioner, she is a trained neutral evaluator, a marital mediator, and an experienced trial/appellate lawyer.  Jeanmarie is the editor of A Practical Guide to Divorce in New Hampshire, published in December 2009. She also represents professionals in licensing and disciplinary matters before the New Hampshire Board of Mental Health Practice, Board of Nursing, and other professional licensing boards.

In addition to her membership with the Collaborative Law Alliance, and the similarly-focused Massachusetts Collaborative Law Council, Jeanmarie is also a member of the New Hampshire Bar Association, the New Hampshire Trial Lawyers Association, the Massachusetts Bar Association, the Suffolk University Law School Alumni Association and the New England Association for Conflict Resolution.  She sits on the editorial board of the New Hampshire Bar Journal, as well.

Jeanmarie is a resident of Salem, New Hampshire and is licensed to practice in both New Hampshire and Massachusetts.
