Portsmouth, N.H. (January 27, 2026) – The law firm of McLane Middleton is pleased to announce that Whitney A. Alexander has been named managing director of the firm’s Portsmouth office. In this leadership role, Whitney will oversee day-to-day operations, collaborate with attorneys and staff to support the firmwide strategic initiatives, and help drive continued excellence in client service across the region. She will also focus on strengthening operational efficiency, enhancing collaboration, and supporting the ongoing growth of the Portsmouth office.

Whitney is a director in the firm’s Trusts and Estates Department, where she assists individuals and families in all aspects of estate planning and trust and estate administration. She focuses her practice in assisting high-net worth individuals with designing and implementing sophisticated estate plans that maximize family wealth preservation and asset protection utilizing estate, gift, income, and generation skipping transfer tax strategies. Whitney provides guidance to fiduciaries and beneficiaries to help facilitate efficient and productive administration of trusts and estates. She also advises clients on the advantageous New Hampshire trust laws and assists with establishing various types of Irrevocable Trusts including dynasty trusts and directed trusts, as well as improving existing Irrevocable Trusts through the use of decantings and non-judicial settlement agreements.
Beyond her legal practice, Whitney is actively engaged in the Seacoast community. She serves on the board of directors of the Seacoast Science Center, is a 2019 alumna of Leadership Seacoast, and a 2023 graduate of Leadership New Hampshire.
