Ellen Hazen
Principal, Chief Market Strategist F.L. Putnam

Ellen, a CFA® charterholder, is responsible for communicating the firm’s market and investment strategy and is the lead portfolio manager on two of the firm’s proprietary equity strategies. In her role as chief market strategist, Ellen has a range of responsibilities that includes market and economic analysis and investor education. She directly supports our investment advisory and FLP Atrato Consulting teams.

Ellen is regularly featured in the industry’s most influential business media outlets including Bloomberg TV, CNBC, MarketWatch, The Wall Street Journal and Yahoo! Finance.

Ellen has over 25 years of industry experience. Prior to joining FLP, she spent 13 years as a sector portfolio manager and senior equity research analyst at MFS Investment Management and served on the Research Management Committee and the Diversity Committee. Ellen previously held positions at Putnam Investments, Goldman Sachs, and Morgan Stanley.

Ellen serves on the investment committee for MetroWest Health Foundation and is a member of The Hestia Fund. She is also involved with Smart Woman Securities (SWS), a non-profit organization focused on attracting women into the investment management industry. Ellen is also a director on the executive committee of the Boston Economic Club.
