McLane Middleton attorneys Charla Bizios Stevens and Adam M. Hamel will be presenting on “Paid Family and Medical Leave Act: The Legal and Financial Impact” on July 25, 2019 at 2:30 p.m. at Strega Prime in Woburn, Mass.
The presentation is part of the CGI Business Solutions Seminar Series.
The program is intended to help Massachusetts employers prepare for the responsibilities associated with the Paid Family and Medical Leave law before the effective date of October 1, 2019. As part of the program, attendees will: understand the timeline and key dates for implementation of the new law; identify the classes of employees/contractors covered under the law; and recognize the employer’s responsibility to meet mandatory reporting requirements.
Charla is chair of the firm’s Employment Law Practice Group. She has extensive background addressing litigated and non-litigated employment issues such as discrimination, harassment, employee classification and wage and hour claims. She assists employers in responding to labor audits, preparing personnel policies and minimizing risk in the hiring, discipline and termination of employees. She conducts management and anti-harassment training and works with employers to maintain legal compliance in a cost-efficient and effective way.
