Joseph A. Foster Named Manchester’s Lawyer of the Year in Bankruptcy and Creditor-Debtor Rights/Insolvency and Reorganization Law

McLane’s Bankruptcy Department Also Top-Listed in New Hampshire

Foster as Manchester’s Lawyer of the Year in Bankruptcy and Creditor-debtor Rights / Insolvency and Reorganization Law for 2013.

After more than a quarter of a century in publication, Best Lawyers is designating “Lawyers of the Year” in high-profile legal specialties in large legal communities. Only a single lawyer in each specialty in each community is being honored as the “Lawyer of the Year.”

A Director with the firm for more than twenty years, Joe serves as Chair of McLane’s Bankruptcy Practice Group. He represents creditors ranging from small private lenders to nationally recognized banks and finance companies in out of court restructurings and chapter 11 reorganizations. He works with business and individuals in all aspects of bankruptcy matters from prosecuting and defending litigation arising in bankruptcy court to counseling buyers of assets from businesses in bankruptcy. Joe also assists financially troubled businesses and individuals in loan restructurings and workouts.

Joe also works with the firm’s Government Relations Group. and its Commercial Finance Group.
In addition to this recognition by Best Lawyers, Joe is regularly listed in Chambers USA: A Guide to America’s Leading Lawyers for Corporate/Commercial: Bankruptcy.  He has also been singled out in New England Super Lawyers® Joe is a member of the New Hampshire Bar Association.
 
In addition to his private practice, Joe served as a New Hampshire Senate Senator from 2004-2008, as Senate majority leader from 2007-2008, chairman of the Judiciary Committee from 2004-2008, and was a member of the Banks and Insurance and Education Committees. Prior to holding his Senate seat, he was a member of the New Hampshire House from 1995-1998.

Joe received his J.D. from George Washington University in 1984 and a B.A. from Tufts University in 1981.
