Attorney Kendall Spencer will present at the 2026 Entertainment, Arts, & Sports Law Section Spring Meeting program, sponsored by the the New York State Bar Association today, May 28. The event will take place at the American Arbitration Association located in New York City and also virtually via Zoom.
Kendall will be on a panel entitled, “Chaos, Cash and College Sports,” which will dive into the rapid evolution of NIL, where high-profile litigation, aggressive reform efforts, and big-money athlete deals are transforming NCAA economics in real time. This panel will also discuss the latest court battles, proposed legislation, and the legal implications for student-athletes, schools, conferences, and other stakeholders.
Kendall’s practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, venture and growth-stage investments, A.I. and strategic commercial transactions, with a particular emphasis on technology-driven and life sciences companies. Kendall also brings a distinctive perspective at the intersection of law, business, and sports. As a professional athlete and former member of the NCAA Division I Board of Directors, he has played a leading role in shaping modern collegiate athletics policy, including co-authoring the NCAA Constitution, and contributing to the development of Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) frameworks. He has advised athletic programs, sports organizations, and industry stakeholders on governance, commercialization, and strategic initiatives, and has negotiated employment and commercial agreements throughout the sports ecosystem.
