The law firm of McLane, Graf, Raulerson & Middleton Professional Association is pleased to announce that Margaret Kerouac has been appointed to the New Hampshire Bar Association’s Committee on Cooperation with the Courts.
With representation from both attorneys and members of the judiciary, the Committee on Cooperation with the Courts monitors the rules, practices and procedures of the New Hampshire courts and serves as a conduit for information and discussion on topics related to the justice system. The Committee’s focus may also include work to enhance communication and cooperation with various administrative agencies.
Margaret is a director in McLane’s litigation department whose practice focuses upon family law.. Margaret’s practice centers upon the private, creative and client-centered resolution of family matters primarily through mediation, negotiation, collaborative law and other settlement techniques, as well as trial when necessary. Margaret frequently represents clients with substantial net worth, complex martial estates, businesses, professional practices, trust interests and diverse real estate holdings. She handles a variety of disputes relating to parenting rights, property valuation and division, support, divorce, modification and many other matters. Margaret is also experienced in the preparation of prenuptial agreements.
She is admitted in New Hampshire and the United States District Court for the District of New Hampshire.
Margaret is the former Chair of the New Hampshire Bar Association’s Family Law Section, and was in section leadership between 2004-2014. She is also a member of the New Hampshire Collaborative Law Alliance, Seacoast Collaborative Divorce Professionals, Central New Hampshire Collaboration Professionals, American Bar Association, the New Hampshire Association for Justice and a variety of other professional and charitable organizations.
Margaret was recently recognized by the National Academy of Family Law Attorneys with a Top 10 Lawyers Under 40 award, for the state of New Hampshire. She has been named a Rising Star by New England Super Lawyers from 2009-2014, a listing of outstanding lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. But perhaps her most rewarding recognition came from her colleagues at McLane who unanimously awarded her the first Jack B. Middleton Pro Bono Legal Services Award for her outstanding commitment to serving New Hampshire’s poor and underprivileged citizens in 2006.
Ms. Kerouac received her undergraduate degree from Bentley College in 1997. She received her J.D. from Suffolk University Law School in 2000.
