August 7, 2006, Manchester, NH — Cathryn (Kate) Vaughn, an attorney with the law firm of McLane Graf, Raulerson & Middleton, P.A., has recently been selected as a member of the 2007 Leadership Greater Manchester class.
Designed to recognize and nurture existing leadership talents from diverse sectors of the local community, Leadership Greater Manchester selects thirty-five professionals from among businesses, government, education, not-for-profit, arts, and religious and community groups to participate in the annual program. This year’s class begins meeting this fall.
In her legal career, Kate focuses on commercial, insurance and environmental litigation, and education law. A considerable portion of her practice is spent representing parties potentially responsible for hazardous waste contamination in recouping response costs from insurers and from other potentially responsible parties via CERCLA’s contribution provisions. She also works on a number of business litigation matters.
Prior to becoming a lawyer, Kate was a special education and independent school teacher at the Manville School in Boston and Cushing Academy in Ashburnham, Massachusetts.
Kate received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from William Smith College in 1995, her Masters in Education from Simmons College in 1997 and her Juris Doctorate from Boston University School of Law in 2004.
She is a member of the American Bar Association, the New Hampshire Bar Association, the New Hampshire Trial Lawyers Association, the New Hampshire Women’s Bar Association and the Manchester Bar Association. She is admitted to practice law in New Hampshire.
Kate serves on the Manchester Heritage Commission, the Derryfield School Board of Trustees and Alumni Council, and the Manchester Youth Leadership Steering Committee. She is also a member of the Heritage United Way Community Investment team.
Kate currently resides in Manchester.
