March 24, 2006, MANCHESTER, NH: — The law firm of McLane, Graf, Raulerson & Middleton, Professional Association is proud to announce that Jack B. Middleton has received The Charles Holmes Pettee Medal from the University of New Hampshire’s Alumni Association, for extraordinary achievement and distinguished service to the state, the nation, and the world.
The Medal was established in 1940 to recognize individuals who exhibit the rare devotion to service expressed by the life of the late Dean Pettee, who served the college unselfishly for 62 years as professor and dean until his death in 1938. Past recipients of the award have included Sherman Adams, Judge Hugh H. Bownes, Judge John W. King, Dr. C. Everett Koop
Judge Walter R. Peterson, and Admiral Alan B. Shepard, Jr.
“Attorney Middleton was selected for this award because of his commitment to maintain the highest level of judicial standards within New Hampshire and for his other many contributions to several regional and national organizations,” said Gregg Sanborn, Executive Director of the UNH Alumni Association.
A graduate of Boston University Law School, Jack has been a trial lawyer for over 45 years, 24 of which were spent in service as a New Hampshire District Court Judge. In addition to his role as the senior member of the litigation group at McLane, and serving as President of the Firm, Jack has been a constant and positive influence to the community throughout his career. He has been heavily involved in the Manchester Chamber of Commerce, Manchester United Way, Greater Manchester Development Corporation, New Hampshire Business and Industry Association, NHPTV, NHPR and the New England Council. Middleton was instrumental in helping to establish an Interest on Lawyer’s Trust Account program in 1982, which since its inception has provided more than $19 million in grants made to nonprofit organizations serving the civil legal needs of the state’s residents.
