McLane Helps Encourage the Next Generation of Voters

January 17, 2008, Manchester, NH – More than a dozen employees of the law firm of McLane, Graf, Raulerson & Middleton, Professional Association proudly served as volunteers in the Kids Voting New Hampshire program last week. Kids Voting New NH is administered by the New Hampshire Political Library. Students in six cities and towns cast Kids Voting NH ballots on Primary Day.

A state affiliate of the national Kids Voting USA network, Kids Voting NH is a community-based program that combines civic education in the classroom with an authentic voting experience for students.

Michael McCluskey, McLane’s Executive Director was the founding Chair of the program in New Hampshire.

“Citizens of New Hampshire take their voting responsibilities very seriously, and the entire nation takes note of our presidential primary results,” said McCluskey. He added, “It is only natural for our school children to learn, early on, that their votes count and that their civic participation matters.”

In the Manchester polling site, where McLane’s employees assisted in the program, the following results were reported.

Democrats: Clinton 45%; Obama 39%; Edwards 9%; Richardson 4%; Dodd 1%; Kucinich 1%

Republicans: McCain 28%; Romney 27%; Giuliani 14%; Huckabee 13%; Paul 11%; Hunter 3%; Thompson 3%; Write-in 1%
