McLane Hosts Spring Art Show

Best of Show Prize Granted by the Firm to Artist from Rye

May 26, 2006, PORTSMOUTH, NH— The law firm of McLane, Graf, and Raulerson & Middleton Professional Association granted its first Best of Show prize in the Spring Art Show held at The Gallery at 100 Market Square on Friday, April 28, 2006.

An oil painting on canvas by artist Albina Colden of Rye, New Hampshire was chosen Best of Show. Ms. Colden was awarded $250 for her entry, entitled “Composition with Bride and Lighthouse, No. 2.”

Aaron Drew and Kim Ferreira, both of Portsmouth, NH were named runners up and each were awarded a cash prize as well.

Since its inception, the McLane Law Firm has been an active supporter of the visual and performing arts in New Hampshire. Hosting cultural exhibits such as this is the firm’s way of demonstrating its commitment to the Seacoast’s artistic community.

Jurors for the show were culled from the artistic community of the Seacoast and included two sponsors of the show, Jean Hurlbut of the McLane Law Firm and Mike Simchik of 100 Market Group, Ltd.

The next show is being planned for July 28, 2006 and will be held in honor of the Portsmouth Poet Laureate, “What is Home” Program. Artists interested in submitting their work should contact Jean Hurlbut at 603-436-2818. The deadline for submissions will be June 19, 2006.
