PORTSMOUTH, NH — The law firm of McLane, Graf, Raulerson & Middleton Professional Association will once again host an exhibition of the latest paintings by local Portsmouth artist, Patrick Healey. The public is invited to view the exhibit August 21 through the month of October, Monday through Friday between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. at the firm’s offices at Ten Pleasant Street in Portsmouth (above Me & Ollie’s Cafe in Market Square). There will be a special reception held at the McLane offices Thursday, August 21 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Wine and cheese will be served and attendees will have an opportunity to meet the artist.

Mr. Healey is a modern day colorist and landscape painter whose artistic influences range from the gentle poetic spirit of Milton Avery to the spatial organization of Richard Diebenkorn. He began his career in the late 1970s, while studying in Rome, Italy and has been exhibiting his works for over twenty years, including at Harvard University and The Art Institute of Chicago. Today Mr. Healey lives and works in Portsmouth. Many of his Giclee paintings are based on the primitive and haunting shapes found in the early architecture of the city, while others depict the landscape of the surrounding seacoast area.

Since its inception in 1919, the McLane Law Firm has been an active supporter of the visual and performing arts in New Hampshire. Hosting cultural exhibits such as this is the firm’s way of demonstrating its commitment to the Seacoast’s artistic community. For more information on this exciting exhibit, interested parties may contact Jean Hurlbut at 603-436-2818.
