Shiva is an of counsel attorney in the corporate department whose practice focuses on immigration law, civil litigation, and real estate. She advises clients on a broad range of immigration matters, including business and family immigration, federal immigration litigation, naturalization, and deportation defense. Her clients range from multi-national corporations to start-up high technology companies and individual foreign nationals.
In the litigation arena, Shiva represents mortgage lenders in a variety of pre- and post-foreclosure matters, including title issues, loan transactions, condominium issues and origination claims.
Prior to joining McLane, Shiva established and directed Karimi & Associates PC for 14 years. She served as chair of the Boston Bar Association’s Immigration Law Committee and was a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association’s Immigration Law Steering Committee. She is also a long-time member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association.
Shiva earned her J.D. from Suffolk University School of Law and her B.A., cum laude, from Northeastern University. She is currently admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, the Federal District Court for the District of Massachusetts, and the 1st Circuit Court of Appeals.
