McLane Middleton Hires Whitney Alexander and Ashley Scott

The law firm of McLane Middleton is pleased to announce the hiring of attorneys Whitney A. Alexander and Ashley B. Scott.

Whitney is an associate in the Trusts and Estates Department where she represents clients in a broad range of areas including estate planning, elder law, trust administration, estate administration and tax planning.  Prior to joining McLane Middleton, she was an attorney at Spano & Dawicki, LLC.  During law school, Whitney interned with Greater Boston Legal Services in the Elder Law unit and immediately after graduation became the co-author of Massachusetts Elder Law (Lexis Nexis).  Whitney is currently a member of the Professionalism and Ethics Committee of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA) and as a member of that committee she is working on the revised NAELA Aspirational Standards which serve as the cornerstone of ethical and professional guidance for elder law and special needs law attorneys.  Whitney resides in Portsmouth, N.H., and can be reached in the firm’s Woburn office at (781) 904-2671 or whitney.alexander@mclane.com.  

Ashley joins the firm as an associate in the Litigation Department.  Prior to joining McLane Middleton, Ashley was an attorney at a general practice firm, litigating, assisting clients with land use matters, construction contracts, lease drafting, and condominium law.  She has represented clients before local boards, committees, state courts, and has assisted in drafting a brief to the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and the U.S. Supreme Court.  Before entering private practice, Ashley was a law clerk with the New Hampshire Superior Court for three years, working with judges across the state.  In that role, she worked on the longest jury trial in New Hampshire history.  Ashley resides in Concord, N.H., and can be reached in the firm’s Manchester office at (603) 628-1279 or ashley.scott@mclane.com
