McLane Welcomes Margaret R. Kerouac as a Director and Shareholder

January 4, 2010, Manchester, NH: McLane, Graf, Raulerson & Middleton, Professional Association is pleased to announce that Margaret Kerouac been elected a director and shareholder of the firm.

Margaret is an attorney in the litigation department whose practice focuses primarily upon domestic relations matters. The scope of her domestic relations practice includes representation of clients in matters concerning parenting rights, property valuation/division, support issues, post-divorce matters and appellate litigation as well as preparation of prenuptial agreements.

 

Her clients range from individuals with high net worth and financially sophisticated marital estates to those with relatively moderate means.  Margaret resolves cases through collaborative law, mediation, negotiation, or when necessary, trial. She is a licensed and experienced collaborative law practitioner.

Margaret’s practice also includes some personal injury work, including representation of plaintiffs in personal injury and medical malpractice cases as well as the defense of large pharmaceutical corporations and automobile manufacturers in product liability litigation.  

She is admitted in New Hampshire and the United States District Court for the District of New Hampshire.

Margaret serves as Chair of the New Hampshire Bar Association’s Family Law Section, and has been an elected member of section leadership since 2004.  She is a member of the Family Division Rules Group and Policy Group.  She is also a member of the New Hampshire Collaborative Law Alliance, American Bar Association, the New Hampshire Association for Justice and a variety of other professional and charitable organizations.

She was recently named a Rising Star by New England Super Lawyers, a listing of outstanding lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. But perhaps her most rewarding recognition came from her colleagues at McLane who unanimously awarded her the first Jack B. Middleton Pro Bono Legal Services Award for her outstanding commitment to serving New Hampshire’s poor and underprivileged citizens in 2006.

Ms. Kerouac received her undergraduate degree from Bentley College in 1997.  She received her J.D. from Suffolk University Law School in 2000.
