Manchester, N.H. (November 1, 2023) – The law firm of McLane Middleton is pleased to announce the hiring of Nicole J. Herbst, Chief Risk and Compliance Officer/Senior Trust Officer, and Cathleen Sullivan, Trust Officer, in the firm’s growing Trust Services Department.
As the Chief Risk and Compliance Officer, Nicole is responsible for leading all aspects of the risk management and compliance functions within the Trust Services Group. As a Senior Trust Officer, she is responsible for working with clients and beneficiaries, along with their financial advisors. Nicole’s past experience includes 28 years in the trust industry working as a personal and philanthropic trust officer, compliance and fiduciary officer, and financial planner. Most recently she has worked for Cambridge Trust and NHTrust, and previously for national, regional, and state financial institutions. She has obtained her Certified Trust & Fiduciary Advisor (“CTFA”) certification and she is a Certified Financial Planner (“CFP®”), along with obtaining her legal degree from Gonzaga University School of Law. Cathleen is a trust and estate professional with over 25 years of experience working in the legal and financial industries. She has administered all types of trusts including special needs, charitable, family, marital and insurance trusts. She has experience holding and reporting on alternative assets including limited partnerships, private equity and real estate. She is educated in generations skipping tax, gift tax and estate taxation and has been involved with estate planning and implementation. Cathleen obtained her Certified Trust & Fiduciary Advisor (“CTFA”) certification through the American Bankers Association in 2023.
