Parenting Coordinator Association of New Hampshire Kicks Off Program Planning at McLane Law Firm

Members of the Parenting Coordinator Association of New Hampshire, (“PCANH”), met recently at the McLane Law Firm’s Concord office to plan outreach activities for the coming year.

PCANH is a nonprofit organization dedicated to managing and reducing inter-parental conflict and creating healthier outcomes for children of divorce and separation. Members include attorneys, mental health providers and other professionals committed to improving the process of family transition.

At the meeting, members outlined plans for outreach and education about the benefits and utility of parenting coordination, with emphasis on providing education to the judicial branch and legal community about this method of alternate dispute resolution.

“There are many issues that divorced or separated parents have to work out – parenting schedules, exchange terms, extracurricular activities, education choices, and medical decisions, just to name a few of the biggies,” said Jeanmarie Papelian, a parental coordinator, experienced trial lawyer, certified collaborative practitioner, and martial mediator. “Experienced parenting coordinators help ex-spouses come up with solutions that everyone can live with, fostering a more peaceful environment for their children.”
