Steve Burke, Bob Wells, and Bill Zorn Ranked in Chambers’ High Net Worth Guide

The law firm of McLane Middleton, Professional Association is pleased to announce that attorneys Steven M. Burke, Robert A. Wells, and William V.A. Zorn received rankings in Chambers USA: High Net Worth Guide – Private Wealth Law section.

Individuals are ranked by Chambers in bands from 1-6 with 1 being the best.  The qualities on which rankings are assessed include technical legal ability, professional conduct, client service, commercial astuteness, diligence, commitment, and other qualities most valued by the client.

Bob Wells and Bill Zorn were given band 1 rankings, and Steve Burke received a band 2 ranking.

According to the Guide, “the ‘really talented’ Robert Wells advises individuals and families on estate planning and wealth transfer issues, with expertise in charitable planning. In his practice he also represents charitable [organizations]. A fellow lawyer says: ‘He is a gentleman. It’s hard to overlook Bob Wells, he’s an experienced practitioner.’ Another peer explains: ‘His strongest attributes are his experience and his relationships with clients – they trust him immensely.’ Further sources consider Wells to be ‘the dean of trusts and estates in New Hampshire,’ and ‘a very well-respected estate planning attorney.’”

Regarding William Zorn, the Guide reads, “[He] is the firm’s vice-chair of the trusts and estates practice. Zorn’s practice deals with estate planning, asset protection and wealth preservation for business owners, executives and individuals. Zorn is admitted to practice in both New Hampshire and Massachusetts. ‘He is the top guy, highly recommended,’ says one interviewee. Another market source regards him as ‘a good lawyer, smart, thorough; he knows a lot.’”

The Guide continues, “Steven Burke is ‘really, really good’ according to one source. Burke’s practice consists of estate and tax income planning and administration for families, fiduciaries and individuals. He counsels business owners on generational business succession and employee stock ownership plans. He has additional professional experience as a licensed CPA. He assists with private foundation work for families as well as serving on the boards of tax-exempt and charitable [organizations]. ‘He’s a good lawyer and he is also a CPA so he knows tons about tax,’ says one observer.”  In addition, Steve’s practice includes pre transaction planning and mergers and acquisitions.  Steve is a Most Distinguished Professor of Taxation at the University of New Hampshire School of Law.

This is the first year Chambers has included New Hampshire lawyers in this Guide.
