An experienced employment lawyer and civil litigator, Tamsin represents corporations and individuals in discrimination, breach of contract, non-compete and other employment and business related matters in Massachusetts and federal courts and in government agencies including the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination.
Tamsin advises corporate and individual clients regarding the full range of employment related legal concerns, from recruitment and hiring to discipline and termination. Since 1998, Tamsin’s alternative dispute resolution practice has included mediation of business and employment disputes and other civil litigation matters. Tamsin currently serves as an arbitrator on the American Arbitration Association Expedited Commercial Panel.
For over ten years, Tamsin was the Principal in the law firm of Tamsin R. Kaplan & Associates, P.C. She has enjoyed an active employment law and litigation practice in Massachusetts since 1994, prior to which she served as a Law Clerk and Regional Administrative Law Clerk in the Massachusetts Superior Court. Before entering law school, Tamsin was an organizational development consultant for non-profit institutions including performing arts companies and museums in the Boston area.
She is admitted by the United States Supreme Court, United States Court Of Appeals, First Circuit, United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts and Supreme Judicial Court, Commonwealth of Massachusetts
Tamsin is a member of the Boston Bar Association, Massachusetts Bar Association, and serves on the board of the Women’s Bar Association.
She received her B.A. from Tufts University in 1982 and her J.D. from Boston College Law School in 1992.
She resides in Belmont, Massachusetts.
