William V.A. Zorn to Present on New Hampshire’s Revised Trust Laws to National Conference of Esteemed Trust and Estate Lawyers

McLane, Graf, Raulerson & Middleton Professional Association is pleased to announce that William V. A. Zorn will present to the nation’s foremost assembly of trust and estate lawyers on New Hampshire’s  revised trust laws at The American College of Trust and Estate Counsel’s Fall Meeting.  The meeting will be held in New Orleans, Louisiana starting October 18, 2014.

The American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC) is a national organization of approximately 2,600 lawyers elected to membership by demonstrating the highest level of integrity, commitment to the profession, competence and experience as trust and estate counselors. Its members work to teach those who aspire to enter the field and to improve and reform laws, procedure and standards while working with their peers and other professional organizations.

As a member of ACTEC’s Asset Protection Committee, Bill will discuss recently passed legislation that makes New Hampshire one of the best legal environments for Trusts and their administration.

There are five key provisions of this new legislation, regarding trust modification, client/attorney privilege, non-judicial dispute resolution, excluded fiduciaries of directed trusts, and validity at creation.

Bill serves as the Chair of the Trusts and Estates Department at McLane and Chair of the firm’s Asset Protection & Wealth Management Group. He concentrates his practice in sophisticated estate planning, implementation and administration for executives and business owners, as well as federal and state tax planning and structuring for corporations, limited liability companies, partnerships, individuals and nonprofit organizations.

Bill received his LL.M., Taxation, from Boston University (1983), J.D. from Boston University (1978) and his A.B. from Dartmouth College (1975), and is admitted to practice in New Hampshire, Massachusetts and the U.S. Tax Court.

He has been recognized by Woodward & White’s Best Lawyers® as Lawyer of the Year (Tax Law, Trusts & Estates Law); in Chambers USA: A Guide to America’s Leading Lawyers (Corporate/Commercial: Tax); and has been named in New England Super Lawyers®.  Bill is  AV peer review rated by  MartindaleHubbell.
