Attorney Shiva Karimi was appointed as Treasurer of the Boston Bar Association (BBA), with her term beginning on September 1, 2025. Shiva was previously Secretary of the BBA. She, along with fellow officers and council members will work to advance the mission of the BBA to promote the highest standards of excellence for the legal profession, facilitate access to justice, foster a diverse and inclusive professional community, and serve the community at large.
Shiva counsels businesses on acquiring and retaining talent and key employees from outside the United States. Global businesses and small local businesses alike require workers from abroad, and Shiva develops creative strategies for navigating the complex U.S. immigration system. She also advises employers in immigration compliance matters and assists employers in responding to audits and investigations.
