Linda Johnson and Peg O’Brien to Speak on Staff Codes of Conduct

McLane Middleton attorneys Linda S. Johnson and Margaret “Peg” O’Brien will be speaking at the New Hampshire School Administrators Association’s “2022 Best Practices in Personnel Leadership Conference” on March 7, 2022 in Concord, NH.

Linda and Peg will speak on “Staff Codes of Conduct: Implementation & Enforcement Best Practices.”  As part of the presentation, they will discuss what to include in a staff code of conduct in order to create the right culture, set expectations and provide fair warning on conduct that may result in discipline.  In addition, they will discuss best practices for investigation of potential violations of the code and related enforcement measures.

Linda is a Director at McLane Middleton, Chair of the firm’s Education Law Group, and a member of the Employment Law Group.  She serves as outside legal counsel and a consultant to many of the country’s top independent day and boarding schools, and has worked with New Hampshire school districts and public schools regarding policy drafting, student and employee training, and responding to employee boundary crossings. Peg is a Director at McLane Middleton and Vice Chair of the firm’s Employment Law Group.  She assists employers with legal compliance and risk management in all phases of the employment relationship, as well as defense of employers in matters pending before government agencies and courts.  On a regular basis, Peg assists company executives, human resources professionals and supervisors with routine employment law concerns, including employee hiring, termination and disciplinary matters, and management of employee leaves of absence.  Peg provides on-site and virtual training for employees and supervisors on harassment prevention and documentation and discipline best practices.  She also conducts workplace investigations.  Peg can be reached in the firm’s Manchester office at (603) 628-1490 or margaret.obrien@mclane.com.
