Linda Johnson to Speak on Supporting Transgender Employees in the Workplace

McLane Middleton attorney Linda S. Johnson will present at the Manchester Area HR Association’s upcoming seminar on “Supporting Transgender Employees in Your Workplace” on March 6, 2018 in Bedford, N.H.

This half day workshop will provide an overview of transgender legal rights in the workplace including federal and state laws as well as recommended policies and practices.  Attendees will also hear from a company that worked with an employee during an employee’s transition and about using a gender support plan that sets forth an employee’s rights, options and the support a company is willing to offer.  Learn how your company can be a more transgender inclusive, nondiscriminatory, and supportive workplace.

Linda is a director at McLane Middleton and has over 30 years of experience litigating cases in state and federal agencies and courts, and in representing the interests of management in all aspects of labor and employment law.  She is co-chair of the firm’s Education Law Group and focuses her practice on understanding and serving the needs of independent and boarding schools.

Linda is also chair of McLane Middleton’s Diversity Committee and sits on the boards of the NH Diversity Workforce Coalition and the NH Women’s Foundation.  Linda wrote the National Association of Independent Schools “Guidelines for Independent Schools for Working With and Supporting Transgender and Gender Nonconforming Students” and has presented around the country on understanding the rights of transgender students and workers.

Linda can be reached in the firm’s Manchester office at (603) 628-1267 or linda.johnson@mclane.com.
