Manchester, NH — Attorney Andrea G. Chatfield of the law firm McLane, Graf, Raulerson & Middleton, Professional Association, was recently elected President of the Board of Directors of the YWCA of Manchester at its annual meeting. A member of the Board of Directors for the past three years, Attorney Chatfield was most recently President Elect. Her term as President will run for the next year on the ten-member board.
The Board’s mission for the YWCA of Manchester during Attorney Chatfield’s term as President is to better define what it means to be a member of the YWCA. “The YWCA is a women’s membership organization and what that membership means has changed over the decades. At its inception, the YWCA served as an advocacy leader in the women’s movement, in the 1970’s and 80’s it became associated with women’s health and fitness, and now it serves as a provider of valuable social services,” says Chatfield.
The Board’s plans include re-connecting with past members and friends and to continue the YWCA’s fundraising efforts to support programs such as: crisis services for domestic and sexual violence victims, including the 24 hour hotline number (668-2299) and Emily’s Place, a shelter for women and children in Manchester; and after-school, summer camp, and recreation programs for girls age 6-12; and leadership and peer education programs for girls ages 13-18.
Attorney Chatfield is of counsel with the law firm of McLane, Graf, Raulerson & Middleton, Professional Association, where she practices as a member of its Employment Law Practice Group. Attorney Chatfield frequently speaks to professional groups on employment law issues and conducts law-related management and employee training for employers. She also lectures at Massachusetts School of Law in Andover, MA.
