Cameron Shilling and John Weaver to Speak on Responding to Cyber Attacks

McLane Middleton attorneys Cameron G. Shilling and John Weaver will be presenting at the NH Tech Alliance and NH Small Business Development Center’s upcoming webinar on “Preventing Company Ending Events: How to Successfully Respond to Cyber Attacks” on September 21, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. ET.

During the presentation, Cam and John will provide an overview of how to prepare for a cyber attack and how to respond effectively when – not if – it happens to you.

Cam is a director in McLane Middleton’s Litigation Department and chair of the firm’s Privacy and Information Security Group.  Combining his business, technology, and employment interests, Cam has developed a depth and breadth of experience in privacy and data security.  His resume includes managing numerous data security audits, preparing and implementing written security policies, training executives, managers, and employees in data security, auditing, preparing and implementing data security agreements with vendors and business associates, addressing a wide variety of day-to-day security issues, and investigating and remediating many security breaches.  Cam can be reached in the firm’s Manchester and Woburn offices at (603) 628-1351 or cameron.shilling@mclane.com.

John is a member of the firm’s Corporate Department and Privacy and Information Security Group. He has a diverse practice that focuses on privacy, cyber security, commercial real estate, land use, and emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, self-driving vehicles, and drones.  In his information security practice, John represents clients both before and after breach events: ransomware, malware, wire fraud, etc. He conducts risk assessments of clients’ security controls and prepares reports that both identify vulnerabilities and provide a roadmap to remediate those vulnerabilities. When a breach event occurs, John coordinates with cyber liability and cyber crime insurance providers, forensic investigators, government agencies, IT teams, vendors, and customers to respond to breaches, protect clients, and preserve their customer relationships. As a data privacy attorney, John assists clients to comply with the growing and complicated array of domestic and global privacy laws, e.g., HIPAA, California Consumer Privacy Act, California Privacy Rights Act, European Union General Data Protection Regulation, etc.  John can be reached in the firm’s Woburn office at (781) 904-2685 or john.weaver@mclane.com.
