McLane Middleton attorneys Linda S. Johnson and David Wolowitz will be presenting at The Association of Boarding Schools (TABS) 2016 Conference on December 1-3, 2016 in Washington, D.C.
Linda will be presenting at two sessions, “Evolving Expectations of School Responses to Student Sexual Assault” and “How Transparent Is Your School – New Expectations in School Communications.”
David will be presenting on “Advancing From Managing Your School’s Risk to Changing Its Culture.”
In addition, Linda and David will both be presenting during a Pre-Conference Session called, “Responding to Reports of Sexual Abuse of Students, Past and Present – The Convergence of Attitudes and Expectations.”
Both Linda and David train their clients on how to promote healthy relationships with students, how to recognize and address early signs of inappropriate behavior, and how to respond to allegations of misconduct.
Linda has over 30 years of experience litigating cases in state and federal agencies and courts, and in representing the interests of management in all aspects of labor and employment law. As part of her education practice, Linda serves as outside legal counsel to many of the country’s top independent and boarding schools including the largest independent academy in the United States. She is recognized as a national authority on student and campus safety issues, risk management, boundary awareness, crisis response, employment law and independent school law issues.
David advises independent schools and colleges on all aspects of risk avoidance and crisis response. He is able to offer clients advice based on his years of substantial and varied experience in key legal areas that impact schools, including employment, mental health, contract, criminal, fiduciary and tort law. David is a pioneer in applying behavioral risk management concepts to promote healthy school cultures. He acts as general counsel to many independent schools in Massachusetts and New Hampshire and is a consultant for schools nationwide and overseas.
