McLane Middleton Honors Mark Rouvalis with Annual Jack B. Middleton Pro Bono Award

McLane Middleton is proud to recognize attorney Mark C. Rouvalis with the 14th annual Jack B. Middleton Pro Bono Legal Services Award for his outstanding commitment to serving citizens in need.

McLane Middleton created the award in support of its efforts to help ensure that all New Hampshire citizens, regardless of resources, have access to the justice system.  Since the firm’s inception, McLane Middleton has been a consistent leader in supporting the state’s most vulnerable constituents.  The award is named after Jack Middleton, who has worked tirelessly for more than 60 years giving back to those most in need.

As the firm has grown into Massachusetts, its pro bono commitment has grown too, and now serves citizens of both New Hampshire and Massachusetts.

“Mark is a consistent champion and advocate for pro bono in the firm,” said Denis P. Dillon, a firm director and member of the Pro Bono Committee, during the presentation of the award at the firm’s recent Colleague Recognition Reception.  “In 2018 alone, he recorded 98 Pro Bono hours.”

“Mark has been a part of the firm’s Pro Bono Committee since its inception,” added Dennis J. Haley, Jr., chair of the firm’s Pro Bono Committee.  “He is quick to mentor and assist new associates who are interested in taking on Pro Bono cases.”

Mark is a trial lawyer who successfully resolves environmental and commercial disputes for his clients through trial, alternative dispute resolution, or negotiation. Mark has obtained favorable verdicts and decisions for businesses and individuals in environmental and commercial cases before judges and juries in state and federal court, and before private arbitrators. His extensive experience in environmental litigation includes protecting clients from governmental claims both in court and in the regulatory context, as well as prosecuting or defending contamination claims between his clients and other private parties. Through his trial practice, Mark also assists his clients to obtain significant insurance recoveries for various pollution and business claims.
