MANCHESTER,NH — Michael Pearson, an attorney with the law firm of McLane, Graf, Raulerson & Middleton, P.A,, has recently been selected as a member of the 2006 Leadership Greater Manchester class.
Designed to recognize and nurture existing leadership talents from diverse sectors of the local community, Leadership Greater Manchester selects thirty-five professionals from among businesses, government, education, not-for-profit, arts, and religious and community groups to participate in the annual program. This year’s class begins meeting this evening.
Prior to joining the McLane Law Firm, Pearson was a partner with Duvin, Cahn & Hutton, a regional labor and employment law firm based in Cleveland, Ohio. He has represented some of the countries largest corporations, such as Wal-Mart, McDonald’s, EDS, SBC, and Dow Jones & Company, Cole National, as well as the Cleveland City School District, the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority, Cleveland State University, Alcan Aluminum, the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, and University Hospitals of Cleveland, and on their behalf he has successfully litigated numerous cases through motion practice, trial and appeal, in state and federal courts, as well as before administrative agencies.
Pearson received his Bachelor of Arts in history and government from Oberlin College in 1986, and his J.D. from Case Western Reserve University School of Law, graduating magna cum laude, in 1990. While at Case, he also served on its Law Review from 1988 to 1990. Upon graduation, he served as a law clerk to the Honorable Stewart A. Newblatt of the Eastern District of Michigan from 1990 to 1992.
Pearson is a member of the American Bar Association, an active member of its Equal Employment Opportunity Committee, and also the ABA Labor and Employment Law Section. Before leaving Ohio, he served on the Grievance Committee and the Judicial and Legal Reform Committee of the Geauga County Bar Association, and the Board of Trustees of the Lake-Geauga United Head Start, Inc. Pearson is admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, and for the Northern District of Ohio, as well as the Sixth and Eleventh Circuit Courts of Appeals. He is also admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court. Michael is currently admitted to the bar in Ohio and Maine.
