Steve Camerino Joins McLane Middleton as CEO

The law firm of McLane Middleton is pleased to announce that Steven Camerino has joined the firm as its Chief Executive Officer.

As CEO of McLane Middleton, Steve will be responsible for overseeing the operational, financial, marketing and human resource functions of the firm. Steve succeeds Cathy Schmidt, who retires at the end of the week.Before coming to McLane Middleton, Steve served for 6 years as President/CEO of New Hampshire Electric Cooperative (NHEC), a consumer-owned electric utility that provides service in 118 communities throughout New Hampshire where Steve oversaw all operations of New Hampshire’s second largest electric utility.  During his time at NHEC, Steve also led the development and implementation of the Cooperative’s strategic planning process, which focused on transforming NHEC’s revenue model, service delivery model and organizational culture to meet the rapidly changing needs of electric consumers.Prior to joining NHEC in 2015, Steve was a shareholder and director with McLane Middleton, focusing his legal practice on corporate and energy matters for more than 30 years, representing major New Hampshire and regional energy and utility clients and other companies with interests in the energy industry.  He was responsible for numerous regulatory and transactional matters for a broad range of clients, including mergers and acquisitions, gas and electric industry restructuring issues, rate proceedings, financings, gas and electric supply issues, and other significant issues affecting the industry.“We are excited to welcome Steve back to McLane Middleton as CEO,” said Barry Needleman, McLane Middleton’s Managing Director.  “He brings significant executive management experience from his time as CEO at NHEC as well as a familiarity with the firm and the legal industry.  We are incredibly grateful to Cathy Schmidt for her leadership.  She led the firm during a time of growth and with a strong commitment to clients, community service and colleagues.
