The law firm of McLane, Graf, Raulerson & Middleton, Professional Association, with offices in Manchester, Portsmouth, and Concord, as well as Woburn, Massachusetts, is proud to announce that Tamsin Kaplan was selected to contribute a chapter on Employment Agreements for Advising a Massachusetts Business, published for business lawyers by Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education | New England™.
Edited by Karl Fryzel and Richard Kimball, Advising a Massachusetts Business offers indispensable guidance on the issues business lawyers are most likely to encounter in providing ongoing counsel to their clients – ethics challenges; protecting proprietary information; employment, insurance, real estate, environmental, and antitrust issues; fiduciary duties of officers, directors, and business owners; and legal opinions.
Tamsin’s chapter covers the various contents of the typical employment agreement, and its role in providing a vehicle for dialogue about the employment relationship, both at the time of hire through the employment relationship. Tamsin provides answers to the most commonly asked questions about:
• Title and Reporting Relationships;
• Duties and Responsibilities;
• Performance Evaluations;
• Terms of Employment;
• Compensation;
• Benefits (Employment, Termination and Severance Terms);
• Intellectual Property and Property Rights;
• Restrictive Covenants; as well as
• Terms in the Event of Arbitration or Litigation.
As part of McLane’s Litigation Group, Tamsin represents corporations and individuals in discrimination, breach of contract, non-compete and other employment and business related matters in Massachusetts and federal courts and in government agencies including the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination.
She is admitted by the United States Supreme Court, United States Court Of Appeals, First Circuit, United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts and Supreme Judicial Court, Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Tamsin is a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association, and was elected to its Law Practice Management Section Council in 2010. She is a member of the Boston Bar Association and serves on the board of the Women’s Bar Association.
She received her B.A. from Tufts University in 1982 and her J.D. from Boston College Law School in 1992.
