Andrew Botti to Present on Whether Employers Should Require COVID-19 Vaccinations

McLane Middleton attorney Andrew P. Botti will be presenting at an upcoming Associated Industries of Massachusetts (AIM) webinar, “On Pins and Needles: Should Employers Require COVID-19 Vaccinations for Employees?” on January 14, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. ET.

As part of the free presentation, Andrew will discuss the implications of the recently issued Equal Employment Opportunity Commission advisory on requiring employees to receive COVID-19 vaccinations. Such a requirement may implicate provisions of the Americans with Disabilities Act, as well as Title VII of the Civil Rights Act concerning religious freedoms.  He will also discuss the likelihood of other state and federal agencies issuing similar guidance or mandates on employee vaccinations.

Andrew represents corporations, smaller businesses, and family owned and operated enterprises in complex business and employment-related issues. He advises management and business owners/operators on business disputes, shareholder issues, employee discrimination claims, and commercial litigation matters.  He has tried numerous cases to verdict in both state and federal court, and has appeared before various administrative and legislative agencies such as the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination. Andrew has testified before the Joint Committee on Labor and Workforce Development of the Massachusetts legislature regarding the efficacy of "An Act Relative to Non-competition Agreements," and has been actively involved in the debate over recent efforts to eliminate non-competes in their entirety.
