District Attorney Marian T. Ryan will discuss best practices for intervention, prevention and response to unacceptable workplace behaviors, particularly bullying and violence. District Attorney Ryan will also discuss how to identify signs of workplace violence and how to create an environment where policies, protocols and plans are in place to deescalate unacceptable behavior and effectively address workplace issues, such as stress, bullying, harassment, and outside conflicts.

About the Guest Speaker
Marian T. Ryan
Middlesex District Attorney
Marian Ryan has represented Middlesex County since 2013. From her experience she has learned that as important as prosecution is, prevention is equally as important. She has expanded initiatives including utilizing restorative justice practices and expanding diversion. She is an advocate for reforming the criminal justice system to put in place policies to address collateral consequences ensuring that we continue to focus on rehabilitation and not just punitive aspects of our legal system.
Ryan is on the faculty of Lasell College and has served as an Instructor at Harvard Law School’s Trial Advocacy Workshop. She has also mentored younger lawyers and law students through her volunteer work at the Women’s Bar Foundation.
Ryan is a graduate of Emmanuel College and Boston College Law School.
