He has been retained by plaintiffs and defendants for cases throughout the country. As a practicing attorney for over 45 years, he is able to evaluate issues based on decades of experience advising administrators on a daily basis on prevention and response measures to protect children. His substantial experience as counsel to schools and youth-serving organizations includes developing policies, training staff, ensuring reporting compliance, conducting and supervising misconduct investigations, and overseeing remediation efforts. He is a frequent speaker at national and regional conferences and has written many articles on these issues.

For matters involving claims of historical misconduct, he can testify on the evolution of the standard of care for child protection measures from the 1970s to the present.

In addition to serving as a testifying expert, David is able to serve as a consulting expert. He has substantial civil and criminal trial experience in state and federal courts. He was an invited guest instructor for the Trial Advocacy Workshop at Harvard Law School for 29 years.
